Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, I have been fascinated with the culture that surrounded me growing up: the beautiful horses, the strong bourbon, the rich college sports tradition, and the laid back lifestyle. Though I work through many mediums and styles, my art gravitates towards sporting and equestrian influences with vibrant color, as well as pop art.
I just recently graduated with an accounting degree from the University of Mississippi’s Patterson School of Accountancy. Despite my business background, I am fully committed to being an artist on the side to balance out crunching numbers. Growing up, I was always torn between my intellectual and artistic side. For the longest time, I grew up never wanting to pursue art. As I've gotten older, I readily see how interconnected they are, each making the other stronger. I am constantly intrigued by using my artistic ability to see the world from a different perspective.
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up."- Pablo Picasso
A favorite quote of mine is by Pablo Picasso. I had always taken this thought very literally, always attempting to never let my artistic ability fade. But I believe there can be more said of it. As I do not necessarily want to become a fine artist as my day job, I will use my artistic gifts from God and apply them to my job in the business world to give myself a competitive edge.
“A creative life is an amplified life. It’s a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life.” -Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic
